Upper Cumberland Family Justice Center Advocate

Job Title: Upper Cumberland Family Justice Center Advocate

Full-time position with time split between a satellite office in Livingston and the UCFJC in Cookeville. Must be willing to travel to Livingston three days a week.

Job Responsibilities:   
Serve as a comprehensive contact for victims of domestic violence,
sexual assault, and/or elder abuse. Responsible for completing intake, explaining available resources, prioritizing client needs, and coordination of services with Family Justice Center partners and the community to meet those needs. Follow-up with high-danger victims identified by law enforcement.

Minimum Qualifications:   

Bachelor’s Degree in behavioral sciences or 5 years of equivalent work experience. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with clients, partner agencies, and volunteers. Strong interpersonal skills. Desire to assist victims of violent crime in crisis situations.

Based on Experience. The Advocate position is grant funded and hiring of the position is contingent on receiving anticipated funding.
