Director of TourismShan Stout Shan Stout is the Director of Tourism for the Cookeville-Putnam County Convention & Visitors Bureau. Shan comes to us with a rich background in publishing, non-profit marketing, volunteer management and tourism promotion. Shan served as the Regional Director of Marketing for Ascension Saint Thomas Health, along with managing Volunteer Services across five counties in Middle Tennessee. Shan’s earlier career produced thirteen children’s projects, along with three best-selling books in multiple languages. Shan works closely with WCTE-PBS, and is currently filming a television series focusing on Upper Cumberland tourism entitled, “Wish You Were Here- Adventures in Tennessee’s Upper Cumberland”. Shan is passionate about growing tourism while partnering with local leadership and small businesses. The Visitors Bureau supports visitor development, manages the Putnam County Convention Center, The Jessica Rector Clark Welcome Center, the Cookeville Visitor Shop, and the Putnam County Fairgrounds. Shan is married to her husband, Sam, and they have three ‘nearly grown’ children. In her spare time, she enjoys cooking, gardening, kayaking and visiting authentic general stores across the state.
