The Putnam County Technology Department is responsible for maintaining the county's extensive computer network which covers 26 agencies with hundreds of computers and associated hardware.
The department also maintains a fiber network that connects all the county buildings with the City of Cookeville allowing for internal data sharing and backup between the city and county.
