Strong to severe storms are possible late Friday night and into the early morning hours of Saturday morning. Storms should be clear of the area by sunrise Saturday morning.
The greatest risk for storms is damaging winds and heavy downpours, but hail and an isolated tornado can not be ruled out.
Currently, the National Weather Service Storm Prediction Center has issued a Slight Risk (level 2/5) for our area including Friday night and the overnight hours of Saturday morning.
Forecasters note that the amount of rain and storms (non-severe) that occur Friday during the daytime will determine the amount of available energy for nighttime storms. The more rain and storms we receive Friday will decrease the chances of severe storms Friday night.
Current timing shows storms as early as 11pm Friday and lasting until possibly 5am Saturday. **This timing and the risk level can change before Friday**
