The National Weather Service Storm Prediction Center has issued a MARGINAL RISK (level 1/5) for severe storms in our area overnight tonight (Thursday) into Friday morning.
The greatest risk with these storms is heavy downpours and gusty winds, mainly after midnight. There is a low risk of hail and a brief tornado, but forecasters emphasize that risk is low. Storms are expected to be weaker once they reach the Upper Cumberland area, and stronger to our West (West of I-65 in Nashville).
Please use today to make preparations in your home storm readiness plan, and ensure your NOAA Weather Radio and flashlights have fresh batteries. Stay #WeatherAware and tuned into our social media and local media for updates.
