SEVERE STORMS POSSIBLE WEDNESDAY AND THURSDAY 4/2-4/3

Severe Weather Outlook:
 
● An active week is ahead with heavy rain & flooding the main impact through the weekend.
(Highest rain totals will favor the northwest areas of the state) where rain amounts of 6-8+ inches will result in flash flooding as well as river flooding.
● Severe thunderstorms possible Wednesday night and Saturday. Damaging winds, tornadoes, large hail all possible.
● A Wind Advisory is in effect from 10 AM this morning to 4 AM Thursday for wind gusts up to 45 MPH. Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result.

 

The National Weather Service Storm Prediction Center has issued a Slight Risk (level 2/5) for severe thunderstorms Wednesday night and overnight into Thursday morning, April 2nd and 3rd.

All modes of severe weather are possible (heavy downpours, dangerous cloud-to-ground lightning, hail, damaging winds, and tornados).

 

An additional risk of low-level flooding is expected through this weekend. The highest risk of flooding is for areas West and Northwest of the Upper Cumberland.
