Overview

Dementia Navigators connect caregivers and individuals living with dementia to community resources and clinical support, helping them remain safely at home as long as possible. Responsibilities include promoting dementia-friendly practices, providing memory screenings, educating about Alzheimer's disease and related dementias (ADRD), encouraging early detection, improving access to services, and strengthening community clinical partnerships.

Based in Putnam County, this role serves Jackson and DeKalb Counties, with some travel across Tennessee.

Minimum Qualifications/Experience Education and Experience:

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree in public health, nursing, social work, or other comparable discipline and experience equivalent to two years of full-time, increasingly responsible professional public health, nursing, social work or another related field OR licensed practical nurses with five years or more work experience working in a healthcare, home health, or community health setting. OR

Substitution of Education for Experience:

Additional graduate coursework in public health, community organizing, social work, nursing, or other related fields may be substituted for the required non-specialized experience on a year-for-year basis. OR

Substitution of Experience for Education:

Qualifying full-time experience in public health, nursing, social work, or other related fields may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis, to a maximum of four years. Individuals with personal experience caring for those with dementia or working in a setting where they came in close contact with people with dementia or caregivers are encouraged to apply.

Position Title: Site Attendant-Non-Exempt 

$12.50 per Hour

Summary of Essential Functions of Job

This position consists of, but not limited to, making sure the site and building are clean at all times, directing traffic, making sure all items are disposed of properly, assisting citizens unloading trash and recyclables and calling in reports every afternoon (so the dispatcher can route trucks the next day for collection).

Specific Minimum Requirements:

This job is classified as heavy duty. Lifting no more than 100 pounds at a time frequently up to shoulder level and up to 60 pounds frequently overhead. This job classification includes the lesser classifications of medium, light and sedentary.

Ability to operate equipment for compacting materials

Ability to follow all safety policies and procedures

Ability to deal with the public and co-workers in a courteous and respectful manner

Circuit Court Clerk’s Office- Position opening for Deputy Clerk 1

Beginning Salary $36,700 - $39,100 will be commensurate to education and experience 

The Circuit Court Clerk’s office is accepting resumes for an entry level position, of Deputy Clerk 1. This position entails working at the front window assisting the public and performing general clerical duties. This position is often times the initial point of contact with the public. Applicants must be able to assist the public in a friendly and courteous manner. This job will include accepting payments, answering phones, accepting and processing passport applications, and the processing/issuance of court documents such as subpoenas/warrants/summons, etc. Applicants must agree to become certified as a Passport Acceptance Agent within 6 months of hire date and pass a background check. Must have excellent customer service skills and be detail oriented. Putnam County EMS is seeking licensed EMS personnel to work in a highly advanced and progressive EMS environment. The following is a general job description for all levels of licensure; a more tailored description for each level of licensure is presented to each employee upon employment at PCEMS.

The employee must be capable of utilizing all medical equipment in PCEMS inventory that falls within their state and local approved scope of practice. This includes equipment for the treatment and transport of the patient. In addition, the employee must be able to safely drive PCEMS ambulances in accordance with state laws and standards established by PCEMS. The employee must be capable of using computers and other electronic devices with regularity and skill. This is not an exhaustive list.

Location for this job is not easily defined. Jurisdiction falls within the realm of Putnam County, with the need for travel to other locations within the State of Tennessee, and occasionally outside the State. Location may also be in any extreme of weather or terrain found in Tennessee.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:  Treat and care for sick and injured patients in the location in which they are found, within the employee's scope of practice. This includes assisting higher trained EMS personnel or managing patient care if no higher licensed personnel are present or deemed appropriate by higher trained personnel. Transport patients from locations to appropriate facilities, as designated by medical direction. Communicate with 911 dispatchers, hospitals, patients, families, and other providers professionally and efficiently using written and verbal means, including in person, and via phone, email, and radio. Appropriate documentation of all patient encounters.

ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:  Maintain a clean station.  When partnered with a higher level of licensure, follow the direction of the higher-level provider, and assist in patient care unless the treatment is inappropriate, or the patient is endangered. In this case, notify the Administration immediately.  Check the ambulance and equipment at the beginning of each day, and document using the inventory system. Note and fix any deficiencies.  Maintain a clean ambulance, inside and out. Disinfect regularly and as needed. Make steps to be ready for the next call quickly once patient transport is completed.  Assume command in case of disaster until it is relieved by appropriate personnel. Then, proceed as set forth in the disaster plan. g) Be able to deliver patient care consistent with AEMT level of training.  Skill in organizing and coordinating simple and complex teams in patient care situations. Be capable of performing tasks as set forth by the Administration and other portions of this manual.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:  The employee must be capable of moving the patient and cot over all types of terrain with the assistance of a partner. The crew must be capable of carrying patients weighing up to 250 pounds, plus the weight of the cot.  The employee must be capable of performing tasks requiring hand-eye coordination, such as driving, patient assessment, IV therapy, etc. The AEMT must be capable of driving and navigating an ambulance safely in all types of weather and lighting conditions. ii) Must be at least 18 years old. Must have a valid Tennessee Class D driver’s license. Must have and maintain a safe driving record. Must successfully complete PCEMS Emergency Vehicle Operations Course. Must have a high school diploma or GED.  Must hold and maintain a current EMT license or higher level of prehospital licensure issued by the State of Tennessee.  Keep a current copy of State EMS license, driver’s license, CPR card and current CEHs uploaded electronically. iv) Must immediately report any revocation, suspension, restriction, expirations, or legal action pending against any licensures or certifications pertaining to employment at PCEMS.  Must submit to hepatitis B vaccination, provide proof of vaccination, or sign a form showing you refused the vaccinations. Must submit to a physical examination to prove fitness for duty, when requested.  Must pass a pre-employment physical agility test.  Must be initially evaluated and trained under supervision of Trainers. The training period will be determined on a case-by-case basis. Convictions resulting in a misdemeanor or felony could possibly result in disqualification for employment. This will be assessed on a case-by-case basis. Required to remain competent on all skills included in AEMT scope of practice.

Putnam County Fire Department

Qualifications: Applicants must be at least 18 years of age and possess a valid Tennessee Driver’s License. Must be a legal resident of Putnam County or possess a waiver approved by the Fire Chief. Applicants will be required to complete a 16 hour Introduction to Fire and Emergency Services course in-house upon acceptance to the fire department. Upon completion of the 16 hour Introduction course, applicants must pass the department’s physical agility test, a pre-employment drug screening, and a background check before actively performing in fire department functions. Within one year of completing the Introduction to Fire and Emergency Services course, applicants will be required to complete a 64 hour Basic Firefighting course in-house and a weekend Live Burn class at the Tennessee Fire Service and Codes Enforcement Academy. Volunteer Firefighters are also required to complete 40 hours of training annually with the Putnam County Fire Department.

Job Summary: Examples of work performed but not limited to: control and extinguish fires, perform forcible entry, search and rescue, respond to hazardous materials incidents, respond to alarms, perform station and equipment maintenance, participate in fire prevention and training activities, perform equipment checks and upkeep tasks, keep all equipment in a state of readiness, participate in pre-fire planning, maintain and flow fire hydrants, make public presentations or conduct station tours on occasion, use a computer to enter data and generate reports, and perform related duties as required.

Essential Functions: Physical strength and ability to perform heavy labor and strenuous work for extended periods of time under extremely dangerous and uncomfortable conditions while wearing provided protective gear, including self-contained breathing apparatus, weighing in excess of sixty pounds or more. Must be able to lift up to one hundred pounds frequently, pull and drag hose, and force entry. Perform ventilation, climb ladders, work from heights, and perform rescues. Endure heat, cold, smoke, and exposure to hazardous materials. Requires fast response or reaction time, good hand-eye coordination to operate equipment and a good personality to interact with fellow personnel and the public.

Once an application is submitted, it will be kept on file until a 16 hour Introduction to Fire and Emergency Services course is scheduled for PCFD. Introduction to Fire and Emergency Services classes are scheduled every three to six months at the Putnam County Fire Department based on the number of applications on file and other various factors.
