Jerry Boyd

Jerry S. Boyd is currently in his fourth school year as the Superintendent/Director of Schools for the Putnam County School System in Putnam County, TN. He has over 20 years experience in public education, 18 of which are with the Putnam County School System. During his career in education, Jerry has served as a classroom teacher (9-12 sciences); assistant principal (7-12); principal (7-12 and 9-12); district administrator for improvement and innovation; supervisor of technology; secondary curriculum supervisor; and assistant superintendent for teaching and learning.

Jerry received his Bachelor of Science degree in biology from Tennessee Technological University. After working in the private industry for two years as a chemical analyst, Jerry returned to school to obtain his teaching license, Masters of Education in Curriculum and Instruction and, subsequently, his Education Specialist degree in Instructional Leadership with a goal to lead school transformation. Jerry is currently completing his doctorate (ABD) in Education in PK-12 Administration and Supervision at Tennessee State University.

Jerry is a proud husband to Stephanie Boyd who is a middle school teacher and the mother of their three children: Killian, Calista, & Silas.
