Nature Fest

Nature Fest is a four-day celebration of nature’s treasures in and around the Upper Cumberland. It includes hikes, lectures, workshops, presentations, and hands-on activities for all ages. The event is free and held at Pennebaker Hall on Tennessee Tech University’s campus, Cane Creek Park in Cookeville, and City Lake Natural Area.

Cooking on the Square

Cooking on the Square is a lunch-time fundraiser event to benefit Putnam County Habitat for Humanity.



The event will be Friday, October 27 from 11:00-1:30 and will include Cajun food served up by 75+ cook teams plus 14 Bake Teams, on the historic Cookeville, Tennessee Courthouse lawn. $20 gets you a hand-made ceramic bowl of your choice, all you can eat gumbo, jambalaya, red beans and rice, etc. Plus bread, drinks and dessert! The Wall That Heals

VIETNAM VETERANS MEMORIAL WALL

The wall stands 7.5 feet high and is a three-quarter scale of the wall in Washington. The memorial wall and mobile education center will be coming to Putnam County April 18-22 at the Putnam County Sports Complex next to Cookeville High School off N. Washington Ave. We are honored to be the only site in Tennessee to host the wall in 2018 and only one of 38 in the Country.

Nine Putnam County residents are listed on the wall, and 65 from the Upper Cumberland region. This is a great tribute to all of our veterans!

Run for the Wall

Cookeville serves for the 5th year as an overnight stop for Run For the Wall, a veterans' motorcycle event with riders gathering in Los Angeles and riding cross-country to Arlington National Cemetery. Riders are “riding for those who can’t.” Many are veterans riding in honor of those MIA or KIA, or are riding as therapy for PTSD.

Riders arrive at 4:30 p.m. CT on Monday, May 22 and are welcomed by smiling faces and waving flags lining Jefferson Avenue.

Departure is the morning of Tuesday, May 23rd with staging in Sam's Club parking area.

A Cookeville Storybook Christmas - 2018 Christmas Parade

The 2018 Cookeville-Putnam County Christmas Parade will be all about the kids having a blast and making memories! The 2018 theme is "A Cookeville Storybook Christmas"!

The parade this year will not only be loads of fun for our children, but very meaningful as well, as it will be dedicated to the families of the 278th who are currently deployed.

There will be over $3,000 in prize money for winning floats this year. This will be such a fun theme to decorate with, so use your imagination and get your employer, non-profit, school, church or club to enter a float. It’s going to be a great parade.

Standing Stone Day Festival

A special Standing Stone Day to take place in 2019 in celebrating its 40th anniversary.

Celebrate Monterey's rich history from Native American heritage and the “laying of the wreath & tomahawk” to exploring downtown’s Civil War history. The fall festival will also offer a parade, arts, crafts and food vendors, antique cars and will welcome hundreds of riders to town as a train excursion arrives from Nashville.

Cooking on the Square

Cookeville’s historic downtown square is transformed into a Cajun culinary destination with live music and more than 75 teams preparing gumbo, jambalaya, red beans and rice. $20 provides a handmade ceramic bowl, all you can eat lunch and funds for Putnam County Habitat for Humanity. The last Friday of every October, thousands of our closest friends gather on the square in Cookeville to enjoy lunch with us!  Advance Tickets will go on sale in October.
